Testimonials

I'd first like to thank the ancestors for blessing me with the perfect guidance to take me on this part of my life journey. Seobo and Jedidah are truly the tree root to my growth and have been there for me from the first day I Took a breath. It would be Impossible for me to sum into words my appreciation for the joint strength and unconditional love they have given me over the years, but i will try. They say the people around you shape who you are as a person and with that being the case I owe them thanks for me being the person I am today. Seobo, a pillar of Strength that never gives up hope on the black youth, his hard work ethic & determination has definitely rubbed off on me, showing me the benefit in sticking to your goal. Jedidah my spiritual mother whose heart feels all and remains open with love for all. your words have always kept me on the higher path even when my stubbornness kicks in - thanks for not giving up on me.
Thank you for keeping me grounded with Cultural, Spiritual and loving guidance and care, you are the true meaning of Godparents -
I Love You....

" I met my spiritual Parents 'Papa Seobo & Mama JJ' when I was at a very low place in my life & needed Guidance. I come from a mulit-racial family and I had massive issues with my identity, culture and race. I knew I did not fit into my very western family but had no Afrikan role models to support me at the crossroads I faced at that moment.
I Contacted Mama JJ and she opened her heart and home without question to my children and I. They taught me how to love myself and accept my place in life & also why my heritage and culture was & is still very Important to my everyday life, growth & my children's future.
Both Seobo & Jedidah are god sent people who have Cultural & spiritual knowledge which is not taught but a gift from the ancestors as they are not only spiritual parents but teachers that have been placed on this earth to guide and heal.
I thank them graciously everyday of my life as they gave me the foundations and teachings which have helped me to be a better parent, friend and successful Nubian woman."

"My name is Emannuel Alexander. I am a trainee Teacher having graduated from essex university with an upper second class degree in humanities. It has been a long and tough jouney that has not yet been completed, but up until now has been greatly assisted by Seobo & Jedidah. Both have had differing effects on my life, but both have been equally as significant.
From about the age of 3 I spent my weekends with Seobo accompanying him to work from 7am - 7pm. My training started from an early age, doing odd jobs like going shops and the buying and making of tea for his workers. As I got older I was allowed to complete more technical tasks and assisted in the actual construction of items. Finally as I got older still I was allowed to operate complex machinery and was trusted to complete equally complex tasks. Seobo taught me to be disciplined by having to wake up early without fail to earn a living, and persevering with tasks no matter how complex. Seobo was always caring and patient with me ,even when I had accidently spoilt something or cost him time and money by makeing a mistake. He always imparted his great wisdom on me, and gave me the belief and confidence to be the man that I am today.
I had an equally significant relationship with Jedidah but very different. Jedidah Appriciated and accepted that I was very different from the other children that were also around, which included my brother and sister. She allowed me to function as an individual but also always challenged me to be a team player. Getting that balance right as a teenager is always hard but Jedidah was always on hand to say or do the things I needed her to do wether I knew it or not. She was always fair and her decision making when disiplining was swift, but alway with compassion in order to learn a lesson but never in malice or spite. She fulled my thirst for knowledge, encouraging me to read constantly and seek answers to the many questions that I had. Most importantly Jedidah was alway willing to share her opinion on an issue regardless of how sensitive, but also always willing to listen to an opposing point of view and take others into consideration.
I own much of who I am today to both Seobo & Jedidah and hope that I can continue to make them both proud in the way I live my life. I know now, that even at 25yrs with a successful education under my belt and the prospects of a successful career, that if i needed anything I could call on Seobo & Jedidah anytime and they would be on hand  to help and support me still. Maybe one day I can be the person they need and I can help and support them."
